Juneau School District

The Juneau School District is home to approximately 4,800 public school students. It is the fifth largest district in the State of Alaska. The District has six elementary schools; two middle schools, two medium sized high schools, an alternative high school, a Pre-K-8 Montessori School and a K-8 Charter School. Other District programs include the HomeBRIDGE home school, a residential youth facility and the Tlingit Culture, Language and Literacy (TCLL) program. One in five of the district’s students are of Alaska Native heritage.

Juneau, Alaska's capital is the third largest city in the state and one of the most beautiful state capitals in the nation. Juneau is located in the Panhandle of Southeast Alaska in the Tongass National Forest, the largest temperate rainforest in North America. Only accessible by sea and air, Juneau is 900 air miles north of Seattle and 600 air miles southeast of Anchorage. The current population of Juneau is 30,711.
